I am so pleased to
announce that after listening to many Pom families, my coaches and I have
decided that it was time to introduce some big changes... and this is how
"Pom Connection" has come to life, a new All Star Pom Program,
designed with all of you in mind, to fulfill your expectations and
needs. A program which focuses on the
girls and their desire to dance, with no football games, where we were
required to be at the field for the entire game, but perform for 2 minutes
during half time, in conditions often not suitable for dancing.
We have designed a Pom
program, where the girls will have a chance to learn all about being a Pom
directly from our very talented High School Pom Squad,
prepare for competitions and have their week-ends free. And that is not all: The start of the Pom Season will coincide
with the beginning of the school year, giving you all a chance to enjoy the
entire summer with no practice.
Please, read the following
details and let us know if you have any questions. We sure hope you will join us.
-
Pom Season (September
to beginning of March)

In order to qualify for UDA
Nationals, the Junior All Star team
will be attending a camp at
Illinois State University, from 6-30 to 7/3
(cost $ 246.00). Depending
on the number of girls enrolled at this
level, we might have two
teams: Drill Team, which will compete
at
all UDA Competitions,
including Nationals in Florida,
and Junior All
Star, which will compete
locally, up to State level, if pertinent.
All routines will be
professionally choreographed, and we will work with UDA (Universal
Dance Association) and UPA (Universal Performer Association) staff on
technique activities. All squads will
be limited to 20 girls each, with two alternates for Youth and Junior All
Star.
Cost: After carefully
reviewing the expenses involved in running such a program, including
insurance, your financial responsibilities will be as follows:
-
Registration fee: $
200.00 (cash or check please)
-
Jazz shoes and dance
costume to go with the music of the routine (~110.00).
We will not ask you for
any other payment, and no team money. Pom Connection will cover the cost of
local Competitions and/or miscellaneous.
To offset any additional costs, we might run some fundraising
activities, which you might find of interest to you. The cost of the National
UDA Competition will be addressed after we qualify and know for sure that we
would be going.
First registration: March
5th, 9
am - 12 pm - Lake Zurich
Library
Second registration: April 7th, 6 - 8:30 pm - Lake Zurich Library

We are very excited about
this new Program, and hope you will be too.
Please join us in making this a true "Pom" experience, we are sure you will not regret it.

please do not hesitate to call me, or to call your coaches directly.
